Since I’m not great at makeup – actually,
I’m terrible at it – and I don’t use tons of it – I constantly try to achieve that apparently effortlessly good look on my skin without using it at all.
And, as I’ve said probably a million times by now, having a good skin routine is crucial. Not only to look good but to actually feel good.
I like to keep my skin routine pretty simple and very basic, so I don’t have to buy and apply 7 different beauty products to my face. Also, I’m a big fan of DIYs, and I’m always willing to make and test new products using only natural ingredients.
So, whether you’re here to take some inspiration, or you’re starting to assemble your first skin care routine, or simply want to test some new beauty products, here is my everyday skin routine.
Cleaning the skin is the most important process of all. And whenever I’m late and I really don’t have time to have a complete skin routine, I still find the time to wash my face and use a cleanser.
I tried this one cleanser from Live simply and I completely fell in love with it! – it’s the best I’ve ever tried to this point. It’s also really easy to realize, so even if it’s your first DIY attempt, you’ll be ready to go.
This is a product I made by myself, experimenting with only water and apple cider vinegar. To this point, I must say I’m pretty satisfied – it reinvigorated my skin and even gives me a glow!
I promise it’s so easy that even your dog could do it!
But why would your dog even need it?!
I’m currently experimenting with turning the moisturizer into a completely handmade and natural product, too.
But, in the meantime, I’m using Belif the true cream – aqua bomb, which is worth its weight in gold.
It is light, fresh and it smells amazing! It’s a gel-like cream and you need very little of it to cover the face and neck. I often use it under my makeup without worrying about smudges or drying out happening.
I don’t use anything specific for my under eyes. Ok, it sounds weird, but here’s my point: it’s such a delicate area and I don’t trust any beauty product company enough to use their products there.
And plus, I’m in my twenties, so I don’t have to care excessively about that area – which doesn’t mean I don’t do at all.
Currently, I use Aloe vera (only raw) to keep that part clean and hydrated, plus some grandmother’s skin hacks to get rid of the under eye circles, whenever they appear. You can read about it here.
And last but. not. least.
Protecting your skin from the sun’s damages is really important, in every season. Actually, every day, so don’t limit sunscreen’s use to the summer.
And whether you see or not the sunlight from that grey, rainy cloud in the middle of December, it is there – and it is probably damaging your skin.
Whenever I’m putting on some makeup, I prefer using some UV protective foundation, so I do just one step instead of two!
Okay, maybe I am overestimating myself!
HOWEVER, THIS IS THE SUNSCREEN I USE EVERYDAY :
- Change your towel – every day or every other day, especially the one you use for your face.
Towels can hide more bacteria than you think.
- Drink a lot of water daily – Surprised?
- Get plenty of sleep – I’m such a big fan of short and relaxing naps!
- Clean your makeup brushes – at least once a month
